Global Online Cities: Trevor F. Smith and Ogoglio Next Thursday, June 7th (2007)

Trevor F. Smith who heads the Ogoglio project to build "global online cities" and 3D work spaces http://ogoglio.com... will be in town from Seattle next week and is eager to meet and share ideas with everyone. I think with the short notice the best way to treat Trevor to a proper smaller-scale Metaverse Meetup experience is to hit Barcade at 7 PM -- the old school video game-filled bar right off the Lorimer L or G train stop in Williamsburg http://barcadebrookly... -- and then walk back to my place around 8 to fire up the projector, give him the floor, and get in deep on what he's trying to build and why. I *really* want to get the tour of the system so come to this one if you want to get in deep, too.

In other meetup news, I spent some time with Ron and Andy the other night exploring format ideas and think the next step is to find some classroom or small auditorium space maybe at a college in the city. If anyone has leads on a person or institution that would volunteer us meeting space for 50-100 people one night a month, please let me know. Somewhere with a projector and screen and a bar near by to pour into afterwards would be golden. Please let me know if you have any connections that might lead to this so we continue smoothing the meetups and networking into interested people in the city.
